I have known Bessem Arrey (auntie Bessem as I love to call her) since May of 2021. We have worked on several projects together.

One thing I love about her is her keenness to the word of God as well as her passion for His kingdom. Working with auntie Bessem has so far been a life-changing experience for me, not only as a person but also as a music producer. I’m looking forward to doing more projects with her in the future.

I met Bessem when things were difficult at the church and there were 6 people left. She was one of the faithful ones that trusted God to revive and restore His work. She is faithful, ready to help in any way to further God's Kingdom, talented, passionate about all things musical and sharing God's Word through song.

She has become one of my best friends she will tell you when something is wrong and we work through it and continue to love. I miss being in the same church as her and seeing how she brings others into the church.

She is loved by me and many others.

I have known Bessem for many years and have always been blessed by her heart to serve and reach out to others. She is always at the center of whatever is going on in ministry and can be counted on to bring energy and care to any situation. The music that Bessem has composed and performs is an interesting blend of Africa meets West and will challenge the listener with the truth and bless the hearts of musicians. I have known Bessem since I was a little girl. My mom and dad were missionaries in Belgium and Bessem and her husband were one of the first couples they had met there that are now disciples and amazing followers of Christ. I have seen Bessem’s faith since I was young. Her music that she would write for her Savior always touched my heart in a special way.

Today, I see her radical faith and love for Christ being used in Belgium – she shares the gospel with anyone she meets. Bessem’s songs to this day touch my heart and spur me on in my own walk with Christ. It brings me to tears to see all the amazing work that God has done through His faithful daughter, Bessem.

Bessem Arrey is my kid sister and I saw her growing up. She was gifted with singing as a child; singing in the church as a teenager. By the time she became an adolescent she started writing her own songs. Today, she is in full blown ministry with kids of different age groups. Her songs are Scripture-based and I have been really blessed by them. Even though she is focused on children; scriptural songs are for all ages. The strategy that God has giving her is so amazing. As she sings, she teaches and the dance steps just radiate love, joy and hope. To God be the glory. Her passion for what she is doing shows that it can only be God and always blessed. Above all, she is so God-dependent for inspiration, counsel and resources. I pray God’s Word continues to prosper through her.

Having known Bessem for almost 10 years, I can say that she has always been a kind and welcoming person, passionate for God and striving to do His will in the church and the community. She has always believed in the power of prayer. During the church's prayer time she always brought up to God her friends, family, colleagues, the city of Bruges, but also her country Cameroon.

Through music, she wants to honor God and reach out to others, both within the church and outside. She involves many people in her music videos, which in turn encourages them in their faith further, since God is at the centre of her worship songs.

Bessem Arrey’s music ministry has been, and continues to be a blessing to me! As a student and teacher of God’s Word, I can attest that each time I listen to Bessem Arrey’s music, the lyrics speak directly to my heart, and as a result, I am always encouraged to trust God’s Word more.

In fact, the lyrics of her music do exactly what God’s Word is meant to do – to edify, encourage, and minister to us! As an example, just a few weeks ago, I was listening to the song titled: Proverbs 4:20-22 and Hebrews 4:12. God’s Word, and the lyrics, plus the rhythm were just right, and that song truly ministered to my heart! Another song: Only You Are Able - is so powerful and true to the Nature of God, and listening to that song reminds me that God is, indeed, able!

Overall, I consider Bessem Arrey’s music as true worship to God and to us, His children, because her music is a constant reminder of God’s power, grace, love and presence in our lives!

Thank you, Bessem Arrey, for being diligent in using God’s Word to bring joy and encouragement to many, and for being obedient to your calling. I pray for God to continue to use your worship music to encourage and bless the multitudes, in Jesus’ name.

The first time I heard about Bessem was when my kids came home from a one-week Bible camp. As the months went by, her name kept coming up in their stories and when I finally got to meet her myself at camp the next year, I could totally see why: Bessem seems to have been soaked in the Gospel and puts the teachings into practice with all her heart. That explains why her music speaks so easily to children’s hearts, as they long for genuine testimonies of God’s immeasurable love for each and every one of them. And for us adults, with our hearts that tend to be a bit more complicated, Bessem’s radiant personality and catchy songs serve as a gentle reminder of important biblical truths and help us to glorify God in a wonderful way.

God has used Bessem as a refining light in my life since our children were babies. A relationship that started in discipleship and musical mentoring quickly evolved to one of ministry partnership, encouragement and true sisterhood that has stood the test of time. From the day Bessem rededicated her life to Christ, she has been an unstoppable force in spreading the Gospel of God’s love and saving grace. We started singing together soon after we met, but before long Bessem was writing her own music from the overflow of her heart.

She then began writing plays for our church, songs for our children’s choirs, women’s ensembles, and more. She took her songs all the way to the mayor’s office and sang for public officials…never ashamed…always searching for more doors to walk through to shine Christ’s light with her music. And she has continued to develop her God-given gift for His glory. Her latest project is a culmination of a life lived as a disciple of Jesus…studying His word, seeking His will, and desiring for the next generation to know Him the same.

I have known Bessem Arrey since my early days of pastoral ministry in Bruges. Bessem and her family are seriously committed to the service of God’s Kingdom. Together, they invest a lot of time, energy and resources. Bessem’s music and worship ministry inspire and draw all, particularly young people to appreciate the beauty and power of God’s Word as contained in Holy Scriptures. By composing her music out of God’s Word, she offers both adults and young people the gospel in the most fascinating manner, offering the audience the opportunity to allow God’s Word to help shape and fashion their daily life in the likeness of Christ. She has a clear gospel mandate that seeks to spread God’s reign in the hearts and lives of all. Bessem's passion and faith are truly contagious!
