Bessem Arrey Ministry was founded by Bessem Arrey Evelyn Tanyi Johnson.

Who We Are

Bessem gave her life to Christ as a kid growing up in Cameroon, Africa. She rededicated her life in Belgium in 1997 at Grace International Baptist Church Brugge under the leadership of missionary pastor Jay and Becky Bertrand.

Bessem is married to her Flemish husband Johan Laforce who is overseeing the ministry affairs behind the scenes. They have a son Bisong Laforce, who serves as the ministry's video editor.

By profession, Bessem Arrey is a caregiver, gospel singer, and Sunday school teacher.

Through serving in Sunday School at her church, Bessem quickly realized that teaching memory verses to kids is not always easy. However, when she would teach a child to sing a memory verse out loud, that kid would return the next Sunday still singing the song. Seeing the effectiveness of this teaching technique instilled in Bessem a desire to make a memory verse album.

The focus of this project was initially on kids; however, after a period of time praying with friends, Bessem realized this project is actually for everyone. Everyone who believes needs God's Word daily in their lives - just as we need the very air we breathe!

Living in this sinful world without God's Word in our hearts will cause us to be lost, and unfortunately perished (eventually)! It is crucial to know and speak God's Word.

The project continued and more songs were produced – culminating in 2019 when the Holy Spirit led her to record her songs at Lion & Fox Recording Studio in the United States. This was when Bessem Arrey Ministry started.

The vision further solidified when Bessem recorded a memory verse album with Egbe, a young producer in Cameroon.

Bessem Arrey Ministry became an approved, non-profit ministry in 2023 by the Flemish Government.

What We Do

The team at Bessem Arrey Ministry comes together as Christ followers to grow in God's Word.

  • We equip children – We seek to create a loving way to equip children by teaching them the Word of God through catchy songs. We want it to be easy for them to hide God's Word in their hearts - at ALL times (Proverbs 4:20-22) so, no matter the situation, they can stand firm in this dark world (Ephesians 6:11).

  • We teach children – For every Bible verse, we also provide video teachings so they can fully grasp and understand the words they are singing. It is essential that every child finds hope in Christ alone (Psalm 62:1).

  • We study the Bible together – It is crucial for children to know and speak God's Word.

  • We rehearse – With each of the children involved in singing (or reciting) Bible verses, we rehearse and host recording sessions.

  • We produce videos – Our team works to make song videos, rehearse dance moves, and make teaching videos. We partner with teachers across the globe to make this happen.

  • We host Gospel workshops.

  • We host cooking workshops.

  • We organize junior camps – We do summer camps together with Grace International Baptist Church Brugge.

  • We organize multicultural activities.

  • We share testimonies in schools, or at events, when we are invited to do so.
